|‘Bonfield Review’ Newsletter
05th August 2016
In parallel to finalising the report we are now beginning to look beyond its publication to how the recommendations could be implemented.
At the last Implementation Board, an overview of the high level recommendations was discussed and the next steps for developing an action plan for implementation.
We plan to publish the Review report as soon as we can and will keep you informed regarding when that will be. We appreciate your continued patience in the meantime.
|At the Implementation Board held on the 7th July, Peter Broad stated that Citizens Advice were conducting a new research with consumers on how they feel about energy efficiency improvements, in their home, and what this means for attempts to encourage able-to-pay consumers to take up measures.
Some of the findings and recommendations relate closely to the work of the Bonfield Review.
This report has now been published and can be found here: Energising Homeowners
The report sets out a framework for encouraging consumers to invest in energy efficiency measures, based on an understanding of real consumer decision-making.
It makes recommendations in four areas:
· Inspiring trust
· Motivating consumers
· Help to pay for energy measures
· High-quality delivery
The report draws on the research carried out for Citizens Advice by Accent research, which provides a deeper understanding of the factors which influence consumer decision-making in this area. This included a desk review of the available behavioural evidence and extensive qualitative research with a range of able-to-pay consumers.
Both reports, Energising Homeowners, and the full consumer research findings are available on the Citizens Advice website.
