‘Each Home Counts Review’ Newsletter

18th November 2016

The Review team and workstream leads continue to meet with stakeholders across the sector as well as arranging future workshops for the implementation phase.  The Review team are also working towards the launch and publication of the Review report.

As we move towards implementation new workstreams will be set up alongside some of our existing workstreams.  Recently added workstreams include the finance and insurance workstream led by Stephen Huller, LaSer UK and Code of Conduct workstream led by Liz Male, TrustMark.

We plan to publish the Review report as soon as we can and will keep you informed regarding when that will be.  We appreciate your continued patience in the meantime.

Finance and Insurance workstream
Invited by Peter Bonfield, Stephen Huller of LaSer UK, part of BNP Paribas Personal Finance, is leading on the Finance and Insurance workstream and exploring how proposed market changes will allow financiers and insurers to provide better market solutions for energy efficiency.  The aim is to make cost effective finance more accessible to a wider proportion of the industry and their customers.

Early collaboration between Financiers and Insurers will allow the experience of customers to be improved, providing peace of mind they are dealing with approved installers and manufacturers and that products perform as customers expect.  It also encourages more innovative operating models.

Stephen Huller comments “ The Review team will engage funders and insurers to deliver significant market benefits.  If this develops as the Review intends, there will be a real possibility of supporting people wishing to retrofit their homes. Producing clear alignment of finance being spent on quality installed products, backed up by insurance giving customers peace of mind.”

The workstream will cover all types of finance solutions, exploring how liabilities are covered in order to improve the overall customer experience.  It will also engage with other workstreams to ensure a fully functioning marketplace as a result of the Review.
