An update on current status of the Review recommendations
The BSI Retrofit Standards Task Group met on 26 July to receive the final report of the research into retrofit standards carried out by the NEF.
The research team has created a database of standards relevant to retrofit:
- covering building fabric
- building services and
- renewable energy systems.
Hundreds of standards have been reviewed and evaluated, and gaps have been identified. The database will be used by the Retrofit Standards Task Group to assist with the development of the proposed framework of retrofit standards, which will underpin the Each Home Counts quality mark and quality assurance scheme.
The Task Group also considered an outline of the standards framework, embracing a new Code of Practice for the Retrofit of Buildings, other BSI standards (including BS7913 and an updated and simplified version of PAS 2030), existing standards from other organisations including CIBSE and MCS, and some new standards that will be developed to fill gaps.
