Code of Conduct and Consumer Protection

An update on current status of the Review recommendations

The draft Code of Conduct has been reviewed and updated in the light of feedback from BEIS, DCLG and the Implementation Board members in July.

This Code of Conduct is intended to set out the minimum requirements of good business practice and consumer protection that the scheme would expect to see reflected in certifying bodies’ own rules.

The Code of Conduct has been drawn from existing codes across different parts of the retrofit industry, and has been reviewed by trading standards professionals. It now requires more testing with industry groups, businesses, trades and professionals.

The aim is to circulate the latest draft Code more widely along with accompanying documents, including the Framework Operating Requirements for certifying bodies/scheme operators, and a draft Consumer Charter. Watch this space for further details.
